The Mix-Up: Where Boys become Men
The Beastie Boys are taking it up a notch, and trying to take their fans with them. While their tickets have instructed concert goers to ‘dress to impress’ for a few tours now, in the wake of their latest release The Mix-Up, at least half of the stops on this tour are officially billed as gala events. With the Boys doing two shows in every city, they have opted to couple each stadium show with a smaller scale, more intimate gala event wherein attendees are expected to dress it up, class it up, and put on their dancing shoes; leaving their ripped jeans, worn-out tee-shirts and mosh-appropriate footgear at home.
All in all, New York City’s Beastie Boys can always be counted on for a great show; fantastic live energy and stellar (and I mean mouth-watering, well-earned) equipment delivers on a dependable and often groundbreaking catalog of music.
