Gardens Dig Heat Waves

It’s a favorite pass time of us Montreal bums to wish for summertime. But every once and a while, we get more then we bargained for. A scorching 45 Celsius (~113 Fahrenheit) at the peak of the heat wave had me thinking I would die at any moment. But rather then sit inside and cry about it, the event photo image crew stepped up and decided on an expedition that was sure to keep us cool (yeah right): the Montreal Botanical Gardens.

Flower

An interesting fact about the gardens is that you can go at different times during the summer and a very different variety of plants and flowers will be in bloom. This trip was no different.  Flash in hand, we captured what we liked and cruised through the gardens at a pace that clearly had us ducking the sun. I didn’t have a cool straw hat like nearly all the people there strolling around, but I guess I’m not THAT into it (or smart enough, you decide).

Unfortunatetly the insecterium was closed which was a disappointment. You can read about it here: http://www.montrealgazette.com/travel/Strike+closes+Biodôme+Insectarium/2725827/story.html

As always check the slide show for more shots.
